COMPANY OF FORT SMITH FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1)
CHASSIS -MOUNTED ASPHALT DISTRIBUTOR IN THE AMOUNT OF
$76,356.00 FOR USE BY THE TRANSPORTATION DIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
awards Bid #07-28 to Clark Machinery Company of Fort Smith for the purchase of one
(1) chassis -mounted asphalt distributor in the amount of $76,356.00 for use by the
Transportation Division.
PASSED and APPROVED this 17th day of April, 2007.

Subject: Purchase of one Asphalt Distributor
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one Asphalt Distnbutor for
Transportation Division in the amount of $71,957.50.
BACKGROUND: Bid #07-28 was opened on March 13, 2007 for one chassis mounted asphalt
distributor for assignment to the Transportation Division. One bid response was received. A
detailed tabulation sheet is attached This distributor will be factory mounted on a new chassis
recommended for purchase from Bid #07-27.
The lowest bid from Clark Machinery Company of Fort Smith meets all specifications.
recommend acceptance of the bid from Clark Machinery in the amount of $71,957.50.
This unit is a replacement for unit #87, a 1999 Roscoe distributor mounted on a Sterling chassis.
The Roscoe distributor has required many repairs over the past two years and has not been
dependable when needed. This asphalt distributor is required to spray tack oil before any
asphalt is laid.
Funds are budgeted and available in the 2007 CIP budget, Project 02080, Other Vehicles.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting on March 27, 2007.
