A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #07-27 TO DIAMOND
INTERNATIONAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) ASPHALT
DISTRIBUTOR TRUCK (CHASSIS ONLY) IN THE AMOUNT OF
$59,988.54 FOR USE BY THE TRANSPORTATION DIVISION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
awards Bid #07-27 to Diamond International for the purchase of one (1) Asphalt
Distributor Truck (chassis only) in the amount of $59,988.54 for use by the
Transportation Division.

Subject: Purchase of one Asphalt Distributor Truck Chassis
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one Asphalt Distributor truck
chassis for Transportation Division in the amount of $59,988:54.
BACKGROUND: Bid #07-27 was opened on March 13, 2007 for one asphalt distributor truck
chassis for assignment to the Transportation Division. One bid response was received. A
detailed tabulation sheet is attached. This cab and chassis will be direct shipped to asphalt
distributor factory for mounting of asphalt distributor recommended for purchase from Bid #07-
28. The vendor of that unit will deliver the completed unit to Fayetteville.
The lowest bid from Diamond International of Lowell meets all speafications.
I recommend acceptance of the bid from Diamond International in the amount of $59,988.54.
This unit is a replacement for unit #87, a 1999 Roscoe distributor mounted on a Sterling chassis.
The Roscoe distributor has required many repairs over the past two years and has not been
dependable when needed. This asphalt distributor is required to spray tack oil before any
asphalt is laid.
Funds are budgeted and available in the 2007 CIP budget, Project 02080, Other Vehicles and
Equipment
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting on March 27, 2007.
