RECOMMENDATION The Fire Department recommends approval to apply for the 2007 Sam's Club Safe Neighborhood Heroes Grant in an effort to fund the purchase of additional AED's. BACKGROUND The department has received these grants in the past. Since there is no matching requirement, they have provided us with additional funds for smaller projects such as fire prevention supplies and replacement personal protective equipment. DISCUSSION I recommend the funding of this grant program since it provides us with additional resources without requiring us to adhere to any specific guidelines or criteria.
