RESOLUTION NO. 48-07
A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #07-21 TO A. CAMP EQUIPMENT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) WIRTGEN MILLING MACHINE IN
THE AMOUNT OF $392,500.00 FOR USE BY THE TRANSPORTATION
DIVISION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
awards Bid #07-21 to A. Camp Equipment for the purchase of one (1) Wirtgen Milling
Machine in the amount of $392,500.00 for use by the Transportation Division.
PASSED and APPROVED this 20th day of March, 2007.

Subject: Purchase of one Milling Machine
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one Wirtgen Milling Machine
from A Camp Equipment of Fayetteville in the amount of $392,500.
BACKGROUND: Bid #07-21 was opened on February 13, 2007 for one crawler mounted cold
milling machine for use by the Transportation Division. One bid response was received in the
amount of $392,500.00 with a trade allowance of $80,000.00 for City unit #69.
The lowest bid from A. Camp Equipment of Fayetteville is a current model direct replacement for
unit #69 and meets all specifications.
This milling machine is a replacement for unit #69, a 1996 VVirtgen pavement milling machine
with 2000 hours of operation This machine is a key component without which the paving
program will shut down. While this machine is still serviceable, it has reached an age where
dependability puts the entire program at great risk. The machine would be a good back up
machine for a contractor with multiple machines. We feel it can be sold at auction for more than
the trade allowance offered.
•
I recommend acceptance of the bid from A. Camp Equipment in the amount of $392,500.00
without trade.
Funds are budgeted and available in the 2007 CIP budget, Project 02080, Other
Vehicles/Equipment.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee at their meeting on February 27,
2007.
