RESOLUTION NO. 35-07
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN (7) CROWN
VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTORS FROM THE STATE VEHICLE
PURCHASE CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $143,413.00.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
approves the purchase of seven (7) Crown Victoria Police Interceptors from the State
Vehicle Purchase Contract in the amount of $143,413.00.

Subject: Purchase of Seven Ford Crown Police Interceptors
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of seven Ford Crown Police
Interceptors from the State Vehicle Purchase Contract This purchase was budgeted in 2006.
Purchase is normally made in November, however, it was delayed to evaluate alternative police
vehicle models.
BACKGROUND: Analysis of projected mileage data and wreck history dictates a need for
seven replacement police patrol sedans between May and December 31, 2007. Vehicles
meeting City of Fayetteville specifications are available through the State vehicle purchase
contract from Cavenaugh Ford of Walnut Ridge, AR at a cost of $20,487.50. Orders must be
placed by March 7, 2007 to insure production and delivery in the 2007 model year.
recommend purchase of Seven Ford Police Interceptor sedans from Cavenaugh Ford in the
amount of $143,412.50.
These seven replacements were budgeted in 2006. Funds were re -budgeted and are available
in the 2007 CIP budget, Project 02081 — Police/Passenger Vehicles.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee at their meeting on February 13,
2007.
