THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS • DEPARTMENTAL CORRESPONDENCE TO: Mayor Dan Coody and Members of the City Council FROM: Greg Tabor, Chief of Police DATE: January 29, 2007 RE: Police Handgun Replacement Recommendation: It is recommended the City Council adopt a resolution approving the purchase of 140 replacement Glock handguns with all related holsters, tactical lights and magazine pouches from Cruise Uniform and Equipment. (See attached Bid 07=05) Background: . This is a scheduled replacement .for• handguns currently used by the police department. The current handguns will be used for trade-in to help offset the cost of the replacements. Discussion: This purchase includes 100 Glock model 35 pistols for patrol officers and 40 Glock model 23-C pistols for non -uniformed personnel Also included in this purchase are all holsters, tactical lights and magazine pouches needed for the weapons. Budget Impact: The funding for this project was approved in the 2007 capital improvement program. RESOLUTION NO.
