FORD OF JACKSON, TENNESSEE FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE
(1) MID-SIZE REGULAR CAB DUMP TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT
OF $40,898.14 FOR USE BY THE TRANSPORTATION DIVISION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby awards Bid #07-51 to Golden Circle Ford of Jackson, Tennessee for the
purchase of one (1) mid-size regular cab dump truck in the amount of $40,898.14
for use by the Transportation Division.

Subject: Purchase of one mid size Dump Truck
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one mid size regular cab
dump truck for use by the Transportation Division
BACKGROUND: Bid #07-51 was opened on June 12, 2007 for one mid size regular cab dump
truck for assignment to the Transportation Division. Seven bid responses were received A
detailed tabulation sheet is attached.
The lowest bid from Golden Circle Ford of Jackson, TN meets all specifications.
I recommend acceptance of the bid from Golden Circle Ford in the amount of $40,898.14.
This unit is a replacement for unit #318, a 1999 Ford F-350 dump truck with 105,000 miles that
is no longer dependable for daily service. The higher GVW rated F-550 is more suitable for the
daily mission of this type equipment.
Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Replacement Project 02078 — Light/Medium Duty
Trucks.
Purchase of the dump truck from Golden Circle Ford was approved by the Equipment
Committee at the meeting of June 26, 2007.
