TRACTOR FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) TRACTOR
DRAWN DISC MOWER CONDITIONER IN THE AMOUNT OF
$14,699.00 FOR USE BY THE WATER & SEWER DIVISION AT
THE OMI HAY FARM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby awards Bid #07-41 to Williams Tractor for the purchase of one (1) tractor
drawn Disc Mower Conditioner in the amount of $14,699.00 for use by the Water
& Sewer Division at the OMI Hav Farm.
PASSED and APPROVED this 19th day of June, 2007.

Subject: Purchase of one Tractor drawn Disc Mower Conditioner
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of one tractor drawn Disc
Mower Conditioner for use by Water and Sewer Division at the OMI Hay Farm.
BACKGROUND: Bid #07-43 was opened on May 15, 2007 for one tractor drawn disc mower
conditioner for assignment to the Water and Sewer Division - OMI Hay Farm. Two bid
responses were received. A detailed tabulation sheet is attached
The lowest bid from Wilhams Tractor of Fayetteville machine meets all specifications.
I recommend acceptance of the bid from Williams Tractor in the amount of $14,699.00. They
have offered the City an optional trade-in of $8,500 on the old unit.
This unit is a replacement for unit #9017, a 2000 New Holland discbine. This unit is scheduled
for replacement after six years. This commercial haying equipment receives several times the
annual hours of use as typical family farm equipment. The ability to replace this equipment after
six years and receive a 58% trade-in allowance makes good economic sense. We also believe
that the trade-in option is more advantageous for the City in this case than public auction.
Funds are available for this purchase in Fleet Replacement Special Project 02083 —
Tractor/Mowers.
Purchase of the disc mower conditioner from Williams Tractor was approved by the Equipment
Committee at the meeting of May 29, 2007.
