RESOLUTION NO. 156-06
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT #1 TO THE
CONTRACT WITH WAYNE GENTRY d/b/a NU LOOK IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $20,000.00 TO CONTINUE THE
REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THROUGH THE END OF 2006.

Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
approves Amendment #1 to the contract with Wayne Gentry d/b/a Nu Look in an
amount not to exceed $20,000.00 to continue the Redevelopment Program through the
end of 2006. A copy of Amendment #1, marked Exhibit "A" is attached hereto, and
made a part hereof.

CONTRACT AMENDMENT # 1
This Amendment effective as of September 19, 2006, by and between the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas, 113 West Mountain, Fayetteville, Arkansas, 72701 and Wayne
Gentry dba Nu -Look Vinyl 14990 Cove Creek Rd., Prairie Grove, AR 72753.
Amendment to the original contract dated February 14, 2006.
In this Amendment, the party who is contracting to receive services shall be referred to as
"City Of Fayetteville" or "The City"and the party who will be providing the services
shall be referred to as "Nu -Look".
Additional Redevelopment Projects as assigned by the CITY for the duration of the year.
Amendment amount $ 20,000.00.
This Amendment has been duly executed on this 212 day of2006.

Subject: Approval of Amendment #1 with Wayne Gentry dba Nu -Look
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of Amendment #1 with Wayne Gentry dba Nu -Look to
provide contract services for Redevelopment Program.
BACKGROUND
•
In 1992, a neighborhood within a low -to -moderate -income area of Fayetteville was
designated as a Target Area to concentrate eligible community development activities.
Prior to the creation of the program, the Code Compliance efforts were placing an
additional economic strain on the low-income homeowners in the target area who are
physically or financially unable to memove or correct violations.
In 2004, the Redevelopment Program was established. This program provides funding
for one Code Compliance Officer and for the clean up/revitalization of deteriorating
properties in the target area. In addition the program assists low to moderate income
homeowners city wide for compliance of code violations. A $20,000.00 contract with
Nu -Look for contact services for the correction of code violations was established in
February of this year.
DISCUSSION

The Redevelopment Program to date in 2006 has spent $16,164.21 assisting homeowners
on private property in clearing violations in the City of Fayetteville. Demand for
program services requires that existing contract be increased. The contract amendment
for $20,000.00 will see the program through the end of the year.
BUDGET IMPACT
CDBG funding for project is $20,000.00.
