Two bid responses were received. A detailed tabulation sheet is attached. The lowest bid from Williams Tractor Co. of Fayetteville meets all specifications. $324ity I recommend acceptance of the bid from Williams Tractor Co. in the amount of $-367493.00 exercising the trade in option. This is a replacement for unit # 987, a 1998 Hesston large square baler. While still serviceable, this machine has reached an age (7 years) that daily dependability is questionable and maintenance cost is rising. This is the only piece of equipment in the fleet that produces this type of bale. Though large square bales is a growing market, the market for used balers is limited and I am satisfied that the trade allowance is reasonable and greater than could be achieved at auction in the fall. Square balers contain a large number of high wear moving parts in areas where fit is crucial to operation. With the opportunity to replace this machine for 66% of replacement cost, the timing is appropriate to replace it. clasp Funds for this purchase are available in 2005 Fleet Replacement Project Account 62683 — Tractors- nd..Mn . 0,642-L.ta.,c , a , Cc: Gary Dumas Mayor: A `S/' Department Director: Purchasing Manager: Finance & Internal Services Director:Budget Manager: IT Manager: Dispatch Manager: Utilities Manager: 0 CO J m U A W N -a O^1 3 !Requester yp BARBARA OLSEN / -CSS (Address: Vendor # 11133 City Of Fayetteville (Not a Purchase Order) Shipping/Handling 1 ¥jt t i 0111 CIO IC i l^ Y LESS TRADE IN ON #990 MOWER CONDITIONER 2005 NEW HOLLAND 1412 DISC 5 2 O J J 'Quantity a EA D EA D EA EA EA D EA 1 m c J N N C co M 1.0 O O O O o Nu) a 0 O0 t0 p O c J .= 0 N .-.
