Boudreaux, Director, Aviation and Eco , . 11'c Development DATE: March 3, 2005 SUBJECT: Contract renewal with McClelland Consulting Engineers RECOMMENDATION: Execute by signature of the Mayor the contract renewal for the 2"" renewal to the McClelland Consulting Engineer Inc. contract to provide airport engineering services. The contract was approved following RFP and selection in 2003. At the end of this renewal term, another RFP will be issued and another selection process will be initiated. The Airport Board approved the renewal at their March 11, 2005 meeting. BACKGROUND: MCE has provided services to the airport for many years with intervening contracts with Garver Engineering, Inc. MCE has been by far the long term consultant for the development of Fayetteville Municipal Airport, Drake Field, working with management, the FAA and the State to secure funds for projects that will continue to grow and maintain the airport for the citizens and visitors that use FMA Drake. DISCUSSION: We are planning several projects for the 2005 fiscal year including a new West side GA Ramp, an updated Master Plan, a new entrance for the Terminal Parking lot, a Terminal building update and a new sprinkler system for the Arkansas air Museum building. Each of these projects will require engineering work as the State Law requires any project over $25,000.00 must be designed and supervised by a registered architect or engineer. BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact with the contract as budget is tied to task orders which are approved by project.
