BACKGROUND: This truck is to replace unit #219, a 1994 Ford F350 1 ton extended cab utility body truck with 80,000 miles that is in need of substantial repairs and is not dependable for daily use. This unit was budgeted to be replaced with a similar unit, however, Water and Sewer Division has been able to reassign several utility body trucks and has requested that unit #219 be replaced with a 1/2 ton Extended cab pickup. The requested truck is identical to an expansion unit previously approved for purchase from the State of Arkansas vehicle purchase contract. The cost of this truck is less than one half the most recent cost of a 1 Ton Utility body truck. Funds are available for this purchase in Project 02078 — Light/Medium Utility Vehicles.
