Fayetteville 911 has reviewed the request and has no objections to this name change. All addresses that are impacted by the name change are University of Arkansas facilities and the University will work with Fayetteville 911 to make the necessary changes if approved. BUDGET IMPACT There is no budget impact by approving this street name change. • • UNIVERSITY4ARKANSAS Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration September 23, 2005 The Honorable Dan Coody Mayor of Fayetteville 113 W. Mountain S1. Fayetteville, AR 72701 Dear Mayor Coody: RECI-71-73 SEP 2 6 2005 CITY OF FAYE', I._vILLE MANOR'S OFFICE 406 Administration Building Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701 (479) 575-5828 (479) 575-5400 (FAX) I am writing to ask you to sponsor an okdinance to change - name of'Ozark Avenue to Mcllroy Avenue. Ozark Avenue runs from•the corner of Ozark and -Fairview Street, in front of the old Mcllroy House, north across Dickson S tamund-thie back of the Chi Omcga Greek Theater, and ends al a parking lot behind the Chemistry Building. The reason for this request is to honor the Mcllroy family, who originally donated the land to establish the University in 1871 and continues to contribute to the development of the University today. This two block long street lies entirely within the campus. No 911 address changes except to campus buildings would be caused by this change, and Facilities Management staff will work with the City's 911 Coordinator to make the address changes to University buildings affected by the change. There is not currently a Mcllroy Street or Avenue in Fayetteville, or even a street name that sounds similar which could lead to confusion. Thank you for your consideration of our proposal, and I ask that you place This ordinance on the City Council agenda at your earliest convenience.
