RESOLUTION NO. 190-05
A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID #05-62 TO DOWNING SALES
& SERVICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $319,425.00 FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TWO (2) REAR -LOAD REFUSE TRUCKS FOR
USE BY THE SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING DIVISION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
hereby awards Bid #05-62 to Downing Sales & Service in the amount of
$319,425.00 for the purchase of two (2) Rear -Load Refuse Trucks for use by the
Solid Waste & Recycling Division.
PASSED and APPROVED this 20th day of September, 2005.

Subject: Purchase of Two Replacement Rear Load Refuse Trucks for Solid Waste
Division
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the purchase of two rear load refuse trucks
for Solid Waste Division to replace units #446 and #447 from Downing Sales and Service.
BACKGROUND: Trucks #446 and #447 are both nine years old and are no longer dependable
for daily route use. Three sealed bid responses were received for bid #05-62. A bid tabulation
sheet is attached. The lowest bid from Downing Sales and Service meets all specifications. I
recommend acceptance of the bid from Downing Sales and Service in the amount of
$319,425.00 for two Autocar trucks with New Way bodies and one set of spare cylinders.
Funds are available for this purchase in 9700.1920.5802.00, Project #02082.
The purchase of these two units was approved by the Equipment Committee at the meeting on
September 1, 2005.
