RESOLUTION NO. 122-05
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN 2020 FUTURE
LAND USE MAP BY CHANGING THE "OFFICE" DESIGNATION ON
ELM STREET BEGINNING AT 155 EAST ELM THROUGH ITS
CURRENT WESTERN BORDER TO "RESIDENTIAL"
WHEREAS, Elm Street between Green Acres Road and Gregg Avenue, including
the dead end streets of Baker and Erstan, is an established single-family residential
neighborhood in close proximity to Woodland Junior High School; and
WHEREAS, Green Acres Road is an appropriate R -O buffer between this residential
neighborhood and the Commercial corridor along North College Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the neighborhood association and residents of Elm, Baker and Erstan
wish to preserve their neighborhood as single-family residential with no further
encroachment of office zoning west of the lots bordering Green Acres Road; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that it is in the best interests of the citizens of
Fayetteville and residents of this historic residential neighborhood that it should be preserved
as a single-family residential neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby amends
the General Plan 2020 Future Land Use Map to change from "Office" to "Residential' that
property bordering Elm Street except for the two comer lots which also border Green Acres
Road.
PASSED and APPROVED this 21s' day of June, 2005.
