Sidewalk and Trails Task Force
Scull Creek 'frail Corridor
Subject: Wilson Springs Sale Proceeds
Recommendation:
The Sidewalk and Trails'fask Force strongly supports the development of the trails and greenways system in the City of
Fayetteville. The Task Force requests at least $500,000 from the proceeds of the Wilson Springs property he allocated
towards the Scull Creek Trail and Greenway Project. The Scull Creek Trail Project, as outlined in the adopted Alternative
Transportation and -trails Mater Plan, is listed as being in the top four highest priority projects. As part of the Master Plan,
the evaluation matrix looked at several evaluation criteria. The criteria included population served per mile of trail,
employers served per mile of trail, connection to othcr trails, total population served and total jobs served. This high priority
trail will promote connectivity between the soon to he completed Mud Creek Trail and the Center Prairie Trail. This year
the City will complete four trails and will have an excellent start on the fifth.
