Background: City Hall was last carpeted in 1994 — 95. The carpet it worn to a point where cleaning and repairs are impossible due to backing separations and fiber wear. Discussion: In January 2004 bids were taken on re - carpeting the City Administration Building. Commercial Coverings Inc. was the low bidder. Bigelow Basic 28 oz unitary backed carpet #812 saddle was chosen as the replacement product. This project was intended to replace worn carpet and unsafe sub floor conditions. The original bids were taken in January 2004 and thus far the City has expended approximately $19,000.00 addressing the most unsafe conditions within the City Administration Building. All of the 2od floor and the majority of the 3"d floor remains to be done. This project entails removal of existing carpet, replacement of sub flooring as needed and installation of new carpet. Budget Impact: The cost of this request is not to exceed $31,823.00. This capital improvements project is funded thru the sales tax capital fund. • • RESOLUTION NO.
