BACKGROUND: The Right of Way Tractor/mower, Unit #544 is 10 years old and in need of replacement. The lowest bid for the New Holland tractor meets all specifications ($43,399.00). The lowest bid for the Tiger mower meets all specifications (24,460.00 each). The Alamo mower does not offer a safety brake valve or hydraulically controlled cutter head safety shield as specified. Both vendors have agreed to accept a split bid with the mower to be mounted on the New Holland tractor by the Tiger dealer. Funds for this purchase are available in 9700.1920.5802.00, project #02083.
