RESOLUTION NO. 92-02
A RESOLUTION GRANTING THE APPEAL OF
THE FAYETTEVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND
GRANTING THE CONDITIONAL USE AS REQUESTED
WHEREAS, the Fayetteville Planning Commission split three to three and
thus failed to pass Conditional Use 02-14 submitted by the Fayetteville School
District to allow 18 additional parking spaces up to a total of 61 spaces for
Leverett School; and
WHEREAS, the two aldermen from Leverett School's ward, Kevin Santos
and Lioneld Jordan joined with Alderman Bob Davis to appeal the denial of this
Conditional Use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville held a public
hearing at a Special City Council meeting and determined that the Fayetteville
Planning Department had been correct in recommending approval of this
Conditional Use because the School District had "complied with the specific
rules governing this individual conditional use request," and the "additional
parking requested is generally compatible with adjacent properties .... "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby grants the appeal of the Fayetteville School District and grants the
requested Conditional Use 02-14 to allow 18 additional parking spaces pursuant
to the three conditions recommended by the Planning Department in its report to
the Planning Commission.
