That the City Council of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby awards Bid #02-40 to Temple Inc. of Decatur, Alabama in the amount of One Hundred Seventy Thousand Nine Hundred Nineteen Dollars ($170,919.00) to provide LED traffic signal lenses to replace all 110 volt bulbs and lenses. (GELCORE LED) PINKLEY SALES COMPANY (COOPER LED) H & H INDUSTRIES (ACT ONE LED) Per Bid Tabulation Sheet dated June 28, 2002, Temple Inc. was the only vendor submitting a bid. I have been testing their equipment and I am confident it will perform as required in the specifications. I recommend Bid# 02 - 40 for LED Traffic Signal Lenses to replace all traffic lenses and 110 volt incandescent bulbs in Fayetteville be awarded to Temple Inc. of Decatur, Alabama. Temple Inc. submitted a total bid of $170, 919. We have $174,000 for this traffic signal improvement project in the Sales Tax Capital Improvements Fund Account# 4470-9470-5890-00 (Project # 02026) We have been testing these LED products for six months and are experiencing a least an 80% reduction in power consumption. These LED lenses should save at least $40,000 - $50,000 per year in the Traffic Division utility costs. I may need a minor budget adjustment at the end of this first year to cover some of the utility cost not saved if we expenence a delay in getting all of the LED signals installed.
