HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-01 RESOLUTION• • RESOLUTION NO. 86-01 A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE TO DEVELOP PARK LAND LOCATED NEXT TO THE NEW FAYETTEVILLE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB AND ENTER INTO A JOINT USE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville desires to assist the Fayetteville Youth Center, Inc. d/b/a the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club, Inc. in the development of its new proposed facility in west Fayetteville; and WHEREAS, the City has previously expressed its intent to assist in necessary infrastructure projects such as the construction of Rupple Road and provision of water and sewer lines for this project; and WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville and its Parks and Recreation Department wishes to develop its parkland adjoining the proposed facility in basic harmony with the general site plan for that facility. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE BY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS* Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas expresses its intent to develop its adjacent parkland in conjunction with the construction of the new Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club Section 2. That the City Council and the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department will work with its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club to develop the City's park land adjoining the new Boys and Girls Club in basic harmony with the general site plan and preliminary plat. The City retains its discretion in the development of its land. Section 3. That the City Council contemplates and anticipates construction of playing fields, a parking lot with access to Rupple Road, trails, etc. on its park land adjoining the new Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club. Section 4. That the City Council expresses its intent to enter into a long term joint use and operational agreement with the Fayetteville Youth Center, Inc. d/b/a/ Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club, Inc. for the use of the land and facilities • • res. 86-01 to improve and enhance the public recreational opportunities for Fayetteville citizens.
