A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FOR
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
REALLOCATING NINETY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS
($94,000.00) OF UNUSED YEAR 2000 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS TO IMPROVE
PLAYGROUNDS AND EQUIPMENT AT WALKER PARK AND
TO PROVIDE HOUSING REHABILITATION SERVICES IN THE
CBDG TARGET AREA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby approves a budget adjustment for
the Community Development Division reallocating Ninety -Four Thousand
Dollars ($94,000.00) of unused year 2000 Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) funds to improve playgrounds and equipment at Walker Park and to
provide housing rehabilitation services in the CBDG target area.

SUBJECT: Budget Adjustment
Background
The City of Fayetteville's 2000 Consolidated Action Plan covering the expenditures of $630,000
was submitted to HUD in November 1999. The City Council accepted the block grant by
resolution 53-00, dated April 18, 2000. By way of explanation, that action included $94,000.00
for a land acquisition project activity. Said project activity was canceled by the non-profit
organization.
Therefore said funds will be reallocated for a public facilities project and housing services
program.
Current Status
The council is being asked to approve a budget adjustment in the amount of $94,000.00 to
reallocate the 2000 CDBG funds. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has
approved the reallocation of these funds. $40,000.00 will go toward improving the playgrounds
and equipment at Walker Park which is located within the City's designated low income target
area. $54,000.00 will go toward housing rehabilitation services in the City's designated CBDG
target area.
Recotmeddation
The staff recommends approval of this resolution.
