BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City Council hereby Approves the purchase of a 2001 Ford E-150 cargo van for the amount of Twenty -One Thousand One Hundred Sixty -Four Dollars ($21,164.00) from Ron Blackwell Ford to be used primarily as a police crime scene van. Tim Helder -714- Subject: Purchase of Crime Scene Tech Van Date: January 11, 2001 The Fayetteville City Council recently approved a new position of Crime Scene Technician for the Fayetteville Police Department. This position will require purchasing an additional vehicle. Upon checking with other agencies that have Crime Scene Tech's all agree that a full size panel van is most practical. We feel a used van in sound physical and mechanical condition will meet our needs. The two necessary items the van will need are automatic transmission and air conditioning. Quotations from three bidders have been included. These are for comparable units presently in stock. Note that the lowest cost unit is the one that has been recommended. Amount of Quotes shown below. As we are at the close of the 2001 model year, other Dealers have not shown left -over units in their stock to allow them to quote. This recommendation has been reviewed by Fleet Operations Division and the Equipment Committee Chairman.
