The first phase of construction in 2001 will be the reconstruction, widening and elevation changes from Eaton Street or Rolling Hills Drive north to the Mud Creek Bridge. Engineering desires to start work on the design in 2000 for an earlier 2001 bid date. Engineering's survey crew is currently committed to the Arkansas Research and Technology project for street, drainage, water, sanitary sewer and wetlands mitigation designed in-house by Engineering. Therefore it is necessary to contract out the surveying for the Old Missouri Road project. Engineering Division will design the project and prepare the plans and specifications in-house. The engineering firm of Garver Engineers was chosen based upon a formal selection in accordance with State law and the City's policy for engineering selections. The proposed contract is for surveying and field work only with a not -to -exceed price of $70,060.00. The proposed budget adjustment is to use surplus funds from the 6' Street extension project in which bids and projected project costs are less than anticipated. Enc• 1.
