Schuldt, Parks Development Coordinator March 2, 2000 Gulley Park Tot Lot The Parks and Recreation staff and the Gulley Park Tot Lot Playground Selection Committee requests award of RFP #00-06 for Gulley Park playground equipment to Arkoma Playgrounds & Supply LLC in the amount of $49,999. The project was awarded according to the request for proposal procedure in which playground companies submit a design based upon specifications and a budget of $50,000. The proposal includes cost and installation of the equipment and ground play surface. Members serving on the professional services committee included Trent Trumbo - City Council, Nancy Hendricks - Assistant to the Mayor, Laura Dawson - Gulley Park Neighbor, Yolanda Fields - Internal Auditor, Judie Nickell - Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Terry Gulley and Eric Schuldt from the Parks Division. A total of eight designs were submitted for the project and all were evaluated based on criteria including aesthetic, durability, and play value. Arkoma was chosen by the committee. In our quest to provide recreational equipment for all age groups we recommend approval of this playground equipment at Gulley Park that will provide enjoyment for generations to come. The Selection Committee recommended at our meeting that this bid award be immediately forwarded to the City Council in an effort to have the new playground equipment installed before the beginning of the Gulley Park Concert Series in May.
