HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-00 RESOLUTIONRESOLUTION NO. 18-00 MTCROPTLMED A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE FAYETTEVILLE CITY COUNCIL AND ALL CITY BOARDS, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND DEPARTMENTS SEEK AND CONSIDER RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS OR RECOMMENDATIONS THAT COULD HAVE A SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. WHEREAS, the Environmental Concerns Committee was created by Ordinance No. 3922 on September 5, 1995; and, WHEREAS, the purpose of the committee is to address environmental concerns, promote a safe and healthy environment, and maintain the natural beauty of the environment; and, WHEREAS, the committee members have considerable expertise and/or interest in the environmental sciences, industry and law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS• Section 1. That the Fayetteville City Council, and all city boards, committees, commissions and departments, including but not limited to the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Streets Committee, and Water and Sewer Committee, are hereby requested to seek and consider recommendations from the Environmental Concerns Committee before making any decisions or recommendations that could have a significant environmental impact, including but not limited to public health; water, air or soil quality; wildlife; or natural aesthetics. ,, PASSfp»AND APPROVED this 1st day of February , 2000.
