Re: Water main extension to serve the westside middle school.
Proposed reimbursement agreement. Proposed authority to approve a construction contract.
The westside middle school is under construction north of Mount Comfort Road and west of the new
Rupple Road extension (also under construction).
The School was to receive water from an agreement with the developer from whom the property was
purchased. The developer has been unable to fulfill this requirement.
In order to provide water to the School and to keep from delaying both the School and the City's
contractor on the Rupple Road extension the following two Resolutions are requested:
1. Approval of an agreement with the Fayetteville Public Schools for construction of an 8 inch water
main from Mount Comfort Road to the Middle School property within the Rupple Road right-of-way.
Such agreement is attached as exhibit "A".
2. Authorize the Mayor to approve a construction contract change order with APAC (McClinton-
' Anchor) the City's contractor for the Rupple Road construction project up to $53,334.70 for the
installation of the proposed 8 inch water main from Mount Comfort Road to the Middle School property,
contingent upon approval of the agreement in item one above.
