BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville hereby endores the creation of Fayetteville com by Interface Computer Center to launch August 17, 1999. PASSED AND APPROVED this 20th day of July , 1999. Interface Computer is the first company to commit to locate in the Arkansas Research and Technology Park and the internet site is a private commercial venture which will link to the City's internet site providing additional marketing for industrial and commercial development. A link will also be provided to the Chamber of Commerce internet site. Our goal is to develop an official Fayetteville Web Site that will be an attractive, useful and interactive site that benefits residents and consumers of Fayetteville, AR. www.Fayetteville.com will serve as a resource for residents and citizens of Fayetteville, and many people beyond our community. We would like to make the site fun, informative and entertaining. Accomplishing this will encourage return visits to the site, allowing the city to promote not only Fayetteville, but also community events and activities. j I NTE R FAC E COMPUTER CENTER, L.L.C. The web site we envision will place Fayetteville, AR alongside other cities that have already designed and built their own community web sites. This will help attract workers and businesses to the area and boost area tourism. For example, visitors from Little Rock will be able to check the web site to see what activities will be going on this weekend while they are here for the Razorback game. A large percentage of our target audience will be Fayetteville residents and consumers who will come to the site to find information about but not limited to: • Local News • Real Estate • Education • Health Care • Community Profile • City Services • Financial Institutions • Things to See and Do • Places to Stay • Places to Dine • Weather • City Map • News Headlines • Local Links • Useful Links We would like to include several other activities to keep interest peaked in www.Fayetteville.com. Among things we would like to do if funding allows: • Fantasy Sports — Pigskin Pick'em — This will allow users to pick who will win football games, with winners receiving prizes from sponsors. • Recipes — create a section that will allow users to post their recipes. • Fantasv Stock Portfolio — allow users to create their own imaginary portfolio. They can make changes as they wish and then at the end of a certain time period, the winner will get a prize from a sponsor. www.Fayetteville.com will be designed and programmed in a way that allows adjustments as the users of the community dictates. If we receive suggestions for things that are not included in the web site, these will be considered and we will adjust the web site to provide what Fayetteville is looking for in its web site. • INTERFACE COMPUTER CENTER, L.L.C. We felt that we were best suited to take on the technical aspect of creating www.Fayetteville.com (Graphic Design / Web Design) from in house personnel, and we added an Ad Coordinator / Content Manager. Responsibilities (Graphic Design / Web Development): • HTML Programming • Web Site Design • Creative Integration • Banner Creation / Design • Project Management • CGI and Other High End Automation • Web Storage • Domain Name Fees • Internet Bandwidth • Server Maintenance • Data Backups • Billing Customers Other responsibilities needed to create www.Fayetteville.com (Ad Coordination / Content Management) • Selling Banners • Marketing • Press Releases • Media Gatherings • Copy Writing and Content for Web Site (On Disk) Interface Computer Center will be using its knowledge and resources to let the community know about www Fayetteville.com. Promotion of a web site is one of the most important factors in creating a successful web site.
