BROOKS (CMN); AND APPROVAL OF A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,217. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS* Section 1. That the City Council hereby approves a 50/50 cost -share for actual construction costs of July 6, 1999 bid for the Steele Boulevard Bridge over Mud Creek with NANCHAR, INC., and Marjorie S. Brooks (CMN). A copy of the engineer's bid tabulation is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. Section 7 The City Council hereby approves a budget adjustment in the amount of $48,217 increasing Street Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5809 00, Project No. 99032 20 by decreasing Use of Fund Balance, Acct. No. 4470 0947 4999 99. Proposed cost -share with NANCHAR, INC. and Marjorie S. Brooks (CMN) for the Steele Boulevard bridge. The City Council has previously agreed to cost share in the construction of Steele Boulevard from Joyce Boulevard south to Van Asche Drive, including the bridge over Mud Creek (approximately 2750 feet) and Van Asche Drive from Steele Boulevard west to the phase line of phase one (approximately 340 feet). The developers have designed and advertised the Steele Boulevard Bridge for construction and bids will be opened July 6, 1999. The proposed bridge will be approximately 212 feet in length, 71.5 ft. wide, with four traffic lanes and 6 ft. sidewalks on each side The engineer's estimate is not complete and has not been furnished at this time. The actual bid results and cost information and budget adjustment will be provided at the July 6, 1999 Council Meeting by staff and/or Milholland Company. A bid waiver is not requested because the project has been competitively bid generally in accordance with the City's requirements. The final costs to the City will be based upon actual costs as documented by Milholland Company and subject to City review. The costs to the City will not exceed& the Council approved cost share without additional authorization. The City will not cost share in any engineering or planning costs. The base, curb and gutter, paving and street drainage requirements for Steele Boulevard and Van Asche will be separate agenda items. Budget: The 1999 budget includes $400,000.00 for the Steele Boulevard Bridge cost share. Action requested: 1. Approval of the "50/50" cost share with NANCHAR, INC. And Marjorie S. Brooks (CMN) for the actual construction costs of the Steele Boulevard Bridge over Mud Creek. The City's share will be 50% of the actual construction costs.
