A RESOLUTION AWARDING BID NO. 99-27 TO MODERN
FENCE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,536, FOR THE BALLFIELD
FENCING AT LAKE FAYETTEVILLE SOFTBALL COMPLEX,
FIELDS NO. 2 AND 3 AND THE BABE RUTH BASEBALL
FIELDS NO. 1 AND 2; AND APPROVAL OF A BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEV ILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1 That the City Council hereby awards Bid No. 99-27 to Modem Fence, in the
amount of $48,536, for the ballfield fencing at Lake Fayetteville Softball Complex, Fields No. 2 and
3 and the Babe Ruth Baseball Fields No. 1 and 2. A copy of the bid tabulation is attached hereto
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
Section 7 The City Council hereby approves a budget adjustment in the amount of
$19,806 increasing Park Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5806 Project No. 99026 1 by
decreasing Park Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5806 00, Project 99024 1. A copy of the
budget adjustment is attached hereto marked Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof.

RE Bid Award #99-27
The Parks and Recreation Division requests approval of bid #99-27 to Modern Fence in the
amount of $48,536. The project would replace the fencing at Lake Fayetteville Softball Complex
fields #2 and #3 and would replace the backstops at Babe Ruth Baseball Complex fields #1 and
#2. These fences were old and require replacement for safety, aesthetic and program quality
needs. Two bids were received with Modern Fence quoting the low bid. The fences need to be
replaced before the 1999 ball season if time permits. The Babe Ruth Baseball Complex project
will also include building a new concession/restroom facility with assistance from the Babe Ruth
Association.
