Home My WebLink About165-99 RESOLUTION• IIP RESOLUTION NO 165-99 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND INCORPORATED CITIES WITHIN WASHINGTON COUNTY AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A WASHINGTON COUNTY COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FACILITATING THE YEAR 2000 CENSUS. • BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS' Section 1. That the City Council hereby approves an interlocal agreement between the county and incorporated cities within Washington County authorizing the creation of a Washington County Complete Count Committee for the purpose of facilitating the Year 2000 Census; and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said agreement. This agreement was drafted at the request of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Council, and authorizes the creation of a Washington County Complete Count Committee for the purposes of facilitating the Year 2000 Census. Code Ann. §14-14-901, governmental bodies may enter into an interlocal agreement; and WHEREAS, the parties are desirous of entering into such an agreement for the purposes of facilitating the year 2000 census, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED: 1. This agreement shall be approved by the governing body of each party to this agreement. The duration shall be until such time as the work contemplated herein has been completed. 2. This agreement does hereby authorize creation of a governing body to be known as the "Washington County Complete Count Committee" The membership of this committee shall be constituted of two (2) representatives from each party. 3. Financing and budgeting shall be as agreed upon by the committee, to be ratified by each governing body. No party shall be financially bound in any manner until approval of its governing body. 4. This agreement may be terminated upon majority vote of the committee and any party may withdraw upon six (6) month's written notice in accordance with Ark. Code Ann. § 14-14-910. 5. Real and personal property may be acquired, held, and disposed in the name of the committee. 6. This agreement shall be submitted to legal counsel for each party for approval in accordance with Ark.
