SUBJECT: Propose Extending Water/Sewer To Child Care Site
Dear Mayor:
The Fayetteville Development Foundation, Inc. has a client
interested in purchasing approximately 2 acres of land. The
site, located in the Fayetteville South Industrial Park, is
what remains of the lot split when the United States Postal
Service purchased 10.7 acres of a 12.7 -acre site. The client
requests the City consider availing funds to allow extension
of water and sewer service to the property boundary at the
proposed site.
The client (Dixie Development & Management) proposes
construction of a 4,000 -to -6,000 square -foot child care
facility. The business could provide up to 122 spaces for
children of manufacturing employees at, or near, the South
Industrial Park.
It's estimated that extension of water (312 feet) and sewer
(354 feet) to the site will cost approximately $24,000. The
City Council had earlier approved Resolution 43-97 committing
up to $20,000 to extend water and sewer to this same site for
a previous client. The Chamber of Commerce, accordingly, re-
quests your consideration to a similar arrangement for this
much needed project for industries on Fayetteville's South
side.
Should you have questions, or if I can be of any further
assistance to you, please do not hesitate to call.
