FAYETTEVILLE MILLENNIUM CONFERENCE FOR 1999./2000
NEW YEAR CELEBRATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:

Section 1 That the City Council hereby approves a funding request of $37248, for
newspaper and radio advertising in areas outside of Fayetteville for the First Night Fayetteville
Millennium Conference for the 1999/2000 new year celebration.

• Local artists will be commissioned to create art projects which will allow festival -goers
to be interactive and participatory. The Millennium Project will provide a way for the public to
write down their ideas for how they want to see the Millennium celebrated. The Time Capsule
fill provide the public with a structure for sharing their hones for the future. First Night time
k:apsules will be open each decaaeand the contents shared publicly in a variety of ways - on
cable. at Council meetings, on displays in schools ano puoiic buildings.
