RESOLUTION NO. 35-96
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED
AMENDMENTS TO THE 1996-2000 CIP TO ALLOW FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAPLE STREET AND JOYCE
BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENTS IN 1996 AND TO DELAY
THE SALEM AREA TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS UNTIL 1997;
AND APPROVAL OF A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the proposed amendments to the 1996-
2000 CIP to allow for the construction of the Maple Street and Joyce Boulevard improvements
m 1996 and to delay the Salem area traffic improvements until 1997.
Section 2. The City Council hereby approves a budget adjustment in the amount of
$1,200,000 increasing Street Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5809 00, Project No. 96042
and Street Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5809 00, Project No. 96086 by decreasing Street
Improvements, Acct. No. 4470 9470 5809 00, Project No. 95071. A copy of the budget
adjustment is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.

95071 be reallocated to Joyce Boulevard - Old Missouri to HWY
265 Project # 96042 and to Maple Street Improvements Project
# 96088.
The funding from Salem Road Area Traffic Improvements will
be replaced in 1997 with the funding originally scheduled for the
Joyce Boulevard - Old Missouri to HWY. 265 Project and the
Maple Street Improvements Project.
Project or Item Deleted:
Funding from the Salem Area Traffic Improvements Project is proposed to
fund this request. The project scope of work for these improvements are being
developed.
Justification of this Increase:
The reconstruction and widening of Joyce - Old Missouri to HWY.
265 is being moved to 1996 due to the rapid deterioration of the
roadway. The Maple Street Improvements projects being moved to
1996 primarily due to a failure of a box culvert
Justification of this Decrease: '"
Funding for this request involves rescheduling funding for Salem Arica Traffic
Improvements from 1996 to 1997.
