A RESOLUTION URGING FAYETTEVILLE CITIZENS TO
CAREFULLY WEIGH THE FACTS WHEN CONSIDERING
WHETHER TO VOTE FOR OR AGAINST THE PROPOSED
TAX INCREASE AND BOND INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE
GOVERNOR'S HIGHWAY PROGRAM ON JANUARY 9, 1996.
WHEREAS, the citizens of Fayetteville and all Arkansans should educate themselves
concerning the proposed half cent sales tax increase, five cent gasoline tax increase, five cent
diesel fuel tax increase, and twenty-five year bond indebtedness;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City Council urges Fayetteville citizens to carefully weigh the
facts when considering whether to vote for or against the proposed tax increase and bond
indebtedness for the Governor's Highway Program.
Section 2. That the City Council respectfully requests the citizens of Fayetteville to
listen to both sides of the proposed new tax increases the proposed and twenty-five year bond
indebtedness and then go vote on Tuesday, January 9, 1996.
