HomeMy WebLinkAbout118-96 RESOLUTIONars RESOLUTION NO. 118-96 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS' EFFORTS TO PRESERVE CARNALL HALL. WHEREAS, Carnall Hall is the second oldest building on the University of Arkansas campus, incorporating all features characteristic of its style and era. WHEREAS, Carnall Hall was named for Ella Carnall, who faithfully served the University of Arkansas for four years as its first female professor, instituting the movement to bring the University of Arkansas out of fiscal crisis. WHEREAS, Carnell Hall is a beautiful and historic landmark which is important to the history of women at the University of Arkansas and should be spared from demolition and restored as the great campus landmark that it is. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the City Council hereby supports the University of Arkansas' efforts to preserve the heritage of the University and the City of Fayetteville through the preservation of Carnell Hall.
