Shipley Motor Equipment Co.
1995 Mack RD688S with Leach Beta Packer Body complete with
container lift and cart dumper @ $109,465.38. This Bid was
accepted due to the compliance with Specifications with minor
variances and provides units that have proven to be efficient,
reliable and compatible to our operations.

Shipley Motor Equipment Co.
1995 Mack MR688S with Leach FL -104 Packer Body complete
with body lift and washout tank @ $141,835.27. This Bid was
accepted due to the compliance with Specifications without
variances and provides units that have proven to be efficient,
reliable and compatible to our operations. This item was bid at
$139,670.27 each and negotiated to include a body tilt system at
$2,165.00. This will make a total bid price of $141,835.27 each.

As a deciding factor, a careful evaluation of all aspects of the final bid were taken into
consideration prior to the award recommendation to give maximum safety, efficiency, and
economy. With all factors considered it will tend to improve resale value of equipment of this
type. The inclusion of specific options when weighing the initial cost against projected benefits
prove to be the best economical choice.
The budgeted amount for these items is from the Shop Fund Capital Expenditures Program,
Vehicles and Equipment, Sanitation Equipment, 9700-1920-5802.00 in the amount of
$566,228.00.
Safety, efficiency and longevity considerations were a deciding factor for the functional items
included in the specifications and recommended award.

RESOLUTION NO. 85-94
A RFSOI UTION AWARDING BID NO. 94-47, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $612,066.68 TO SHIPLEY MOTOR COMPANY
FOR ITEMS 1 & 2. THE PURCHASE OF 5 NEW UNITS OF
SANITATION EQUIPMENT, LESS $50,000.00 TRADE
ALLOWANCE FOR A NET TOTAL. AMOUNT OF $562,066.68.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby awards Bid No. 94-47, in the amount of
$612,066.68 to Shipley Motor Company for Items 1 & 2, the purchase of 5 new units of
sanitation equipment, less $50,000.00 trade allowance for a net total amount of $562,066.68.
A copy of the hid tabulation is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
