A RESOLU f1ON RECOGNIZING GEORGE SMITH FOR IIIS
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE CITY OF
FAYE'ITEVILLE AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS FOR HIS
EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF THE LIGHTS OF THE OZARKS
FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS. George Smith's leadership and personal effort was instrumental in
establishing the Lights of the Ozarks Festival as a tradition in Fayetteville and Northwest
Arkansas and:
WHEREAS. the Lights of the Ozarks Festival brought great happiness and joy to the
citizens of Fayetteville and:
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith's efforts brought together many diverse interests in our
community bringing our citizens together in a spirit commemorative of the holiday season and;
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council wish to commend Mr. Smith for his
community spint and leadership.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Council hereby recognize George Smith fin- his
outstanding contribution to the City of Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas for his efforts on
behalf of the Lights of the Ozarks Festival
PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of January , 1994.
