RESOLUTION NO. 39-94
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT 'IO AN
AGREEMENT FOR HOME GRANT FUNDS DATED
DECEMBER 21, 1993 TO AWARD AN ADDITIONAL. $40,000
TO LIFE STYLES, INC. AND APPROVAL OF A BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
&ction 1. That the Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
an amendment to an agreement dated December 21, 1993 to award an additional $40,000 to Life
Styles, Inc. in HOME Grant Funds. A copy of the amendment to the agreement is attached
hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That the Council also approves a budget adjustment in the amount of
$40,000 increasing Transfer to Life Styles, Acct. No. 2180 4950 5725 00 by decreasing
Personnel Services. Salaries & Wages, Acct. No. 2180 4950 5100 00. A copy of the budget
adjustment is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

AMENDMENT
This amends the Agreement dated December 21, 1993 by and
between Life Styles, lnc. (Grantee) and the City of Fayetteville
through its Community Development Division (Grantor),
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, under the original Agreement the Grantee was awarded
$205,000 from the HOME Grant Program for acquisition of five (5)
housing units that are affordable to low and moderate income
persons;
WHEREAS, the Grantee has requested HOME Grant Program funds in
the amount of $40,000 to acquire one additional unit resulting in
a total purchase of three duplexes or 6 units;
NOW THEREFORE, with this Amendment the Grantor shall award the
funds to the Grantee in the amount and for the purposes stated
herein. All other terms and conditions of the original Agreement
remain unchanged.

This budget adjustment reduces the scope of work to be performed on
individual homes.
Justification of this Increase:
Life Styles original plan, as approved by City Council, called for
the purchase of 5 units or 2.5 dup:exes and obtaining a lot split.
The lot split was unavailable due to size of lot requiring the
purchase of an additional unit. The additional request is 540.000.
Justification of this Decrease:
The additional funds are needed to complete the Life Styles project.
