A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
FOR THE ('ONSTRUC [ION OF A NEW LONG TERM
PASSENGER PARKING LOT AT THE DRAKE FIELD
MLNICIPAL AIRPORT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYE7TEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Council hereby approves a budget adjustment in the amount of
$110,000 increasing Parking Lot Improvements Acct. No. 5550 3960 5819 00 by decreasing
Use of Fund Balance. Acct. No. 5550 0955 4999 99 for construction of a new long term
passenger parking lot at the Drake Field Municipal Airport. A copy of the budget adjustment is
attached hereto marked Exhibit 'A" and made a part hereof.

SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW PASSENGER LONG TERM PARKING LOT.
A budget adjustment of $102,466 with a $7,534 contingency is necessary to
cover the expenses associated with the construction of a new 144 space
passenger parking lot. The demand for long term parking at the airport has
grown over the past two years in conjunction with increase in passenger
traffic. Capacity is currently pushed to the limit with some passengers
having to park on the grass outside the lot. This causes problems such as
damage to the turf, loss of revenue, and frustrated passengers. Additional
cleaning of the terminal is often required because of dirt that is tracked in
by those passengers.
The new lot will alleviate these problems by adding 144 new spaces. The lot
will be curbed and a recirculation road will be constructed. This road will
allow passengers to travel back to the terminal without having to use highway
71. All the work will be done by the City of Fayetteville Street Division.

Project is anticipated to add approximately 144 parking spaces
to the public parking lot at Drake Field. The City's Street Division
is doing the work at an estimated cost of 5102,466. This request
also includes a request for a project contingency of 57,534 for a total
project cost of 5110,000.
Justification of this Decrease:
Fund Balance is sufficient to meet City policy.
