Trade in of 2 retired Units are included with this purchase recommendation. (Sale of additional retired units will be completed upon necessary acceptance and approval of bids received.) The Vendor for this purchase will be Ron Blackwell Ford of Bentonville, Arkansas. Vendor #88230. This will complete the needs of budgeted unit replacement for the calendar year 1992 and 1993. Completion of 1994 budgeted needs will bo scheduled for Formal Bid during the second quarter of the year. Approval of this bid at the March 1st meeting will allow price protection to extend to the 1995 model year production scheduling. By utilizing this price protection on Items 1 through 7, we will be able to save the anticipated price increase on the 1995 model year units. The total cost of this portion is 5231,523, with a 5% increase anticipated of S11 ,578 .65 . Delivery scheduling will be anticipated to allow placement in service during the second, third and fourth quarters of the year. It has been with an objective attitude that this bid has been evaluated. The inclusion of specific options when weighing the initial cosi against projected benefits, prove to be the best economical choice. The budgeted amount for this item is from the Shop Fund Capital Expenditures Program, Vehicles and Equipment, Project *92053-0001, 93058-0001 and 94050-0001, and 94051-0001. Account 9700-1920-5802.00 in the amount of $452,527.00. With the purchase of these units at $348,571.00 a balance of $103,956.00 remains to be utilized at a later date for the other projects scheduled. Safety, Efficiency and Longevity considerations were a deciding factor for the functional items included in the Specifications and Recommended Award.
