RESOLUTION NO. 108-93
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS TO UTILIZE
FEDERAL -AID MONIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville understands that Federal -Aid Surface Transportation
Enhancement funds are available at 80% Federal participation and 20% local cash match for the
following projects:
1) to develop a system of bicycle and pedestrian transportation routes establishing
linkages between educational facilities, area park facilities, established neighborhoods, and are
shopping centers; and
2) to enhance main entrance corridors into the City; and
3) to preserve abandoned railway corridors for conversion for use by bicycles and
pedestrians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville will participate in accordance with its
designated responsibility, mcludmg maintenance of this project.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above
stated improvements. A copy of those agreements and contracts are attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
Section 3. The City of Fayetteville pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this
project.
