RESOLUTION MO. 82-92
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
NEW LAND USE PLAN TO BE COMPLETED BY MARCH 1,
1993.
WHEREAS, the Land Use Plan and the Planning and Associated
Ordinances for the City of Fayetteville are over 20 years old and
have become inadequate; and
WHEREAS, an update for the City land use plan and a new
unified city planning ordinance were initiated over three years ago
by RM Planners under contract with the City at a substantial cost
to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has been undertaking stopgap ordinances and
making plans to accommodate growth with inadequate reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That a team comprised of City Staff, headed by
the Planning Managment Director, at least two City Directors, and
at least two City Planning Commissioners, be immediately designated
to formulate a new land use plan and draft a unified planning
ordinance making full use of the material currently in the Planning
Office files. That target date for complation to be March 1, 1993,
to provide subsequent time for public endorsement and Board
adoption before year end.
