RESOLUTION NO. 160-92
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT PLAN FOR
WALKER PARK AS PRESENTED BY THE PARKS AND
RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors hereby approves the
concept plan for Walker Park as presented by the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Board. A copy of the plan is attached hereto
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.

Preliminary Phasing Plan
Walker Park Expansion*
OCTOBER 6, 1992
Phase I
1. Remove streets: 700' on Block and 900' on 13th.
2. Relocate pavilion and playground now on the corner of 13th and Block.
3. Clear and grade 3 baseball fields
a. Moving soil to soccer field #1 (present practice field),
b. Berms on 15th Street perimeter, and
c. Stream -side berms only if drainage is not impaired.
4. Develop** two regulation baseball fields in total ( **i.e. lighting, seeding,
irngation, dugouts, bleachers, etc.)
5. Develop soccer field #1.
6. Add parking lot on 13th, expand existing lot, and add new lots off of 15th
Street.
7. Develop 1,000' of primary pedestrian circulation with service access.
8. Add 3,500' of woodland trails.
9. Build picnic area near 13th Street.
Phase II
1. Remove an additional 400' of Block Street.
2. Clear and grade soccer field #2.
3. Develop soccer field #2 and baseball field #3.
4. Develop 400' more of main pedestrian walkway with service access.
5. Add restrooms and concession stands in new playing area.
6. Add lighting to two soccer fields.
Phase III
1. Remove an additional 400' of Block Street.
2. Clear, grade and develop soccer field #3 and baseball field #4.
3. Add parking lots on north end of park.
4. Add remaining 2,050' of woodland trails and pedestrian bridges.
5. Build picnic area at north end of park.
*NOTE: Phasing does not include the Senior Citizen Center or the park
maintenance facility.
