RESOLUTION NO. 106-92
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER 18 FOR THE
WALTON ARTS CENTER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $104,552.25 FROM PRIVATE
CONTRIBUTIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute Change Order 18 for the Walton
Arts Center construction projects in the amount of $104,552.25 from
private contributions. A copy of the change order authorized for
execution hereby is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a
part hereof.

CHANGE ORDER NO. 18
Gentlemen:
You are hereby authorized to make the following changes in the Work
included in the referenced Agreement with the City of Fayetteville and
the University of Arkansas:
1. Revise lighting in Studio 'B' 134 and in Balcony Lobby 200 as
follows:

a. Install a backbox and cover for a future dimmer control
station for Lobby 101 in the wall adjacent to the entry to
Vestibule 1O1A where directed by Owner. Stub a 3/4" empty
conduit into the accessible ceiling space from the backbox
for future control station wiring.
b. Refer to Sheet E1.3 of the Drawings - 134 Studio B:
(1) Delete Circuits "LP2"-13, 15, 17.
(2) Delete the three (3) wall box dimmers for Type "G"
fixture control.
(3) Refer to attached Supplemental Drawings SD123a,
SD123b, and SD123c for revised electrical require-
ments.
(4) Refer to the 134 Studio B Dimmer Schedule (attached to
Supplemental Drawing SD123a) for circuiting and zoning
requirements.

c. Refer to Sheet E1.4 of the Drawings, 134 Studio B:
(1) Change portable stage lighting receptacle from NEMA
15-60R rating to a Hubbelock 60 ampere, four pole,
five wire receptacle equal to Hubbell #26521. Provide
Hubbell 26519 plug to match receptacle.
(2) Add a #6 neutral conductor to the portable stage
lighting receptacle circuit.
d. Refer to Sheet E1.5 of the Drawings, 200 Balcony Lobby:
(1) Delete the seven (7) Type "W" fixtures, the Type "P"
track lighting and associated circuiting on the south
wall.
(2) Refer to attached Supplemental Drawing SD123d for
revised electrical requirements.
e. Refer to Sheet E1.7 of the Drawings, 200 Balcony Lobby:
(1) Delete the seven (7) Type "W" fixtures, the Type "P"
track lighting and associated circuiting along the
south wall.
(2) Refer to attached Supplemental Drawings SD123d,
SD123e, and SD123b for revised electrical require-
ments.
(3) Refer to the 200 Balcony Lobby Dimmer Schedule
(attached to Supplemental Drawing SD123d) for circuit-
ing and zoning requirements.
f. Refer to Sheet E1.4 of the Drawings - Panel "LDP"•
(1) Change circuit breaker service panel "LP1" (Circuits
13, 15, 17) from 100A/3P to 150A/3P.
g. Refer to Sheet E1.16 of the Drawings - Panel "LP2":
(1) Add a 50A/3P circuit breaker in Spaces 37, 39, 41 to
serve 200 Balcony Lobby Dimmer Board "BDB".
(2) Add a 50A/3P circuit breaker in Spaces 38, 40, 42 to
serve 134 Studio B Dimmer Board "SDB".
(3) Label Circuits 8, 10, 12, 13, 15 and 17 as Spares.

2. Make the following changes in the tile installation:
a. Upgrade the ceramic floor tile from that specified to that
included in the project's Finish Schedule. Change the
floor tile from 1" x 1" to 2" x 2".
b. Install wall tile on the shower walls in the following
spaces: Shower 117B, Shower 118B, Shower 119B, Toilet
120A, Toilet 121B, and Toilet 122A. Tile is to be American
Olean Ceramic Classics, C11 Alabaster.
3. Revise locks at the following doors as noted:
a. Doors 166L&R, add the following. Magnetic lock control
wiring diagram and control riser diagram are shown on the
attached sheets which are so titled.
(1) Two Dynamag 1205 direct -hold electromagnetic locks
(one on each door).
(2) Two key switches #SS -901 (one on each side of doors
which will release the magnetic locks).
(3) One power supply model No. MPB-840, Von Duprin.
b. Doors 143L&R and 158L&R: Install a shear pin lock on the
room side.
c. Doors 142 and 159: Install panic hardware and cylinder
locks.
4. Refer to Sheet E1.3 of the Drawings:
a. Add one (1) Fixture Type "F" centered in the gypsum board
ceiling just south of Grid 21 at entrance (corridor side)
to Men 133. Field verify the exact fixture location to
avoid conflict with the sprinkler head. Circuit Type "F"
fixture to "LP2"-2, 3-#10's, in 3/4" conduit.
5. Revise sprinkler head locations in the Auditorium. At the
second catwalk from the stage along Grid KK, relocate sprinkler
heads from the stage side of the ceiling opening to the back
side (next to catwalk). The sprinkler heads adjacent to the
Auditorium side wall along this run will not change location.
6. Relocate the Energy Management Digital Work Station from the
Mechanical Room location as specified to Office 125.

7. Prepare concrete block walls to receive wallcovering material
in Rooms 120, 121, and 122.
8. Protect fireproofing on steel truss along Grid H' in Lighting
Platform 208A and Vestibule 207B by extending the metal stud
and gypsum board shown behind the AC panel to the top of the
frame of Door 217.
9. Add two (2) O.S.Y. valves in the fire protection sprinkler
piping system at the elevator shaft and the elevator machine
room.
10. Install lighting in exterior entry canopies as follows:
a. Refer to Sheets MEP1.1 and E1.1 of the Drawings:
(1) Add two (2) Type "H" light fixtures in the fourth bay
using the same spacing requirements symmetrical with
the other Type "H" fixtures. Circuit fixtures to
"HP1"-2 with 3#12's, in 3/4" conduit.
b. Refer to Sheets MEP1.1 and E1.3 of the Drawings:
(1) Add two (2) Type "H" light fixtures in the fourth bay
using the same spacing requirements symmetrical with
the other Type "H" fixtures. Circuit fixtures to
"HP1"-2 with 3#12's, in 3/4" conduit.
11. Change gypsum wallboard to water resistant backerboard on walls
in Toilets 110, 111, 132, 201, and 205.
12. Revise gypsum wallboard ceiling in Corridor 1O1B around Ticket
Sales Area to provide concealment of pipes and ductwork.
13. Rework columns at stage smoke pocket in Auditorium and add weld
plates as necessary.
14. Rough -in plumbing and electrical in Kitchen 124 and furnish L-3
lavatory and S-5 sink in accordance with the attached drawings
and schedule.
15. Enclose space below landings of Stair No. 1 and Stair No. 2 for
storage in accordance with Supplemental Drawings SD124a and SD124b.

16. In Studio A make the following changes to the wood flooring:
a. In lieu of plywood subflooring, install one layer of 2 x 8
tongue and grooved pine, 12 RD15 The hardboard will be
installed on top of it as shown.
b. In the area of the seating platforms the snubbers shall be
continuous 2 x 4 members laid on their side instead of one
snubber every 32" as shown. This occurs only under the
line of the seating platform wheels.
17. Relocate Type "M" Fixture in Corridor 101D as shown on the
attached revision to Supplemental Drawing SD121c.
18. Install curb cuts and a ramp as shown on Sheet L.1 of the
Landscape Plane which are under separate contract as follows:
a. Install the three wheelchair ramps, two at the drop-off
along West Avenue and one at the drop-off on Dickson Street. There are
identified as "Note No. 1" on the landscape drawings.
b. Revise the rear entry by installing a ramp in lieu of the
steps and by installing new steps and a handrail at the side. This is
identified as "Note No. 3" on the landscape drawings.
19. Provide the labor to install wallcovering furnished by the
Owner in lieu of painting in locations called out on the project finish
schedule, and as follows:
a. In the Auditorium area install the following:
(1) Wallcovering, 18,884 square feet @ $1.25/sf
(2) Borders, 2,430 lineal feet @ $1.50/lf
b. In other areas install the following:
(1) Wallcovering (medium weight up to 13'), 18,345 square
feet @ $1.00/sf
(2) Borders, 596 lineal feet @ $1.25/lf
c. Credit will be given for omission of 37,229 square feet of
wall paint application at a unit price of $0.40/sf.
20. In order to provide for installation of landscaping being done
under separate contract relocate the fire department connection
(F.D.C.) in accordance with Supplemental Drawing SD -131,
attached. Note that the water motor alarm (W.M.A.) does not

require relocation. The extended 4" line may require an
additional valved 1" drain line at the low point.
21. Omit the following items of site work:
a. Curb and gutter at Education Building, in the island in the
parking lot, and the area along School Avenue.
b. Sidewalk around the Education Building, and along School
Avenue.
c. SB -2 base material in parking lot.
d. Three concrete parking aprons at entries to parking lot and
mechanical yard.
e. Brick pavers at entry.
22. Provide site electrical work for the landscape work which is
being done under separate contract. Work is detailed on the
landscape plans and includes exterior lighting, roughing -in for
signs, and other power requirements.
Accordingly, the contract will be INCREASED by $104,552.25
Original CONTRACT SUM $ 5,476,370.00
Change Order Nos. 1 thru 16 2,418,912.24
Change per this CHANGE ORDER $ 104,552.25
Adjusted CONTRACT SUM $ 7,999,834.49
The Contract Time WILL NOT BE CHANGED by work done under this Change
Order.
