RESOLUTION NO. —191
A RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING ARKANSAS WOMEN'S
HISTORY MONTH.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Women's History Month seeks to commemorate
the many Arkansas women who have made significant contributions to
the political, economic, social and cultural history of our state
and;
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville's reputation as the "Athens
of the Ozarks" owes a great debt to the women who have played
significant and responsible roles in the history of our city and;
WHEREAS, many women in Fayetteville'shistoryhave contributed
to good city government, quality education, competitive business,
historic preservation, the defense of our country's interests, the
establishment and maintenance of quality libraries, hospitals,
museums, churches, medical care and other cultural and
philanthropic endeavors essential to making Fayetteville's quality
of life second to none and;
WHEREAS, the women contributing to Fayetteville's rich history
have been supported both directly and indirectly through their
fathers, mothers, spouses, sons and daughters and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas wish to acknowledge the important role of women in
Arkansas history and more specifically that role in the history of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
