A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OVERSIZING OF A _11
WATER LINE LOCATED ON HIGHWAY 265 NORTH OF
JOYCE STREET AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF
$13,385.00 AND A CONTINGENCY OF $2,615.00 AND
APPROVAL OF A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors authorizing the
oversizing.of a water'•line from 6" to 12" located on Highway 265
north of Joyce `:Street at an estimated cost of $13,385.00 and a
contingency of $2,615.00. A copy of the estimate authorized for
execution hereby is.,attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a
part hereof. J
Section 2. That the Board of Directors hereby authorize a
line item budget .adjustment in the amount of,$16,000.00 from
Account No: 540-560-5-315.00 and increasing Account No. 540-560-5-
315.00, Capital Water Mains > . This 'is money left over from the
Poplar Street Project which can be used for other capital
improvement projects. A copyof,the budget adjustment authorize
for execution is hereby attached -hereto and made a part hereof.

SUBJECT: oversizing of Waterline
Highway 265 North of Joyce Street
DATE: June 18, 1991
A 6 inch water line is being extended as shown on the attached
plat for the purpose of serving 4 lots created by lot splits. The
line wouldbe extended from Joyce Street some 1500 feet to the
north along Highway 265. The owners of the lots are paying for the
cost of the 6" extension.
As shown on the attached plat, there is an existing 12"
waterline approximately 1300 feet north of the proposed 6" line on
the west side of Highway 265. The Staff feels it would be in the
best interest of the City to have a 12" line constructed so that
we could eventually complete a 12 inch loop along Highway 265.
The estimated cost of the oversizing is $13,385.00. There are
no funds for oversizing in the 1991 Water and Sewer Budget.
However, funds are available for the project because of an underrun
in the water relocation project on Poplar Street. The budgeted
amount for the Poplar Street Bridge water relocation is $26,000.00
and the bid price was $10,000.00 making $16,000.00 available for
this oversizing.
It is the recommendation of the Staff that the line oversizing
be approved at an estimated cost of $13,385.00 along with a
contingency amount of $2615.00 for a total of $16,000.00.
