A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NEW 1990 RURAL
FIRE CONTRACT RATES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute new rates for the 1990 rural
fire contracts in the amount of $157.00 for association members
and $314.CC for individual contract holders. A copy of the new
rates authorized for execution hereby is attached hereto marked
Exhibit "A" ana made a part hereof.

SUBJECT: RURAL EIRE CONTRACTS
It is again time to renew the rural fire contracts. As you are
aware, the rural fire contracts contain clauses that "Property
owner may extend the term of this contract for additional terms
of one year." and, "The City Finance Department shall mail to
the property owner a notice specifying the amount of the fire
protection fee and the amount of the fire response fee which the
City will charge for the next year. If the contract owner
desires to extend the term of this contract, the property owner
shall execute the provision in the City's Notice and return the
Notice to the City of Fayetteville Finance Department. The term
of the contract shall then be extended automatically for a period
of one year, commencing upon receipt by the City of the specified
fire protection fee."
We have calculated, on the attached schedule, new fire protection
fees using the same formula that was used in the last several
years. The new fee will be $157.00 for an association member and
$314.00 for an individual member. The listing below shows the
fee history for the last four years. I will be glad to answer
any questions that you may have.

*THE 1980 CENSUS AND APRIL 1983 LAND USE SURVEY RECEIVED FROM
LOUIS WATTS SHOWED 13,400 HOUSEHOLDS FOR 1980. ACCORDING TO
BUILDING INSPECTION. THERE WERE 3002 HOUSEHOLDS ADDED SINCE THAT
TIME. THIS BRINGS 1990 TOTAL TO 16,402.
