RESOLUTION NO. j.Q0-90
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT TO THOMAS
ASSOCIATES FOR MANAGEMENT. TRAINING WORKSHOPS
FOR CITY EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE .SUPERVISORY
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute a contract between the City and
Thomas Associates for three, 3 -day management training workshops
for all city employees who have supervisory authority and
responsibility. A copy of the contract authorized for execution
hereby is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and made a part
hereof.

IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS CONTAINED HEREIN, the City and the Consultant hereby
agree as follows:
1. The Consultant shall conduct three 3 -day management training workshops for supervisory
employees of the City of Fayetteville. Dates for this training have been established
as October 29, 30, and 31; November 14, 15 and 16 and November 26, 27 and 28 of 1990.
The site of the training is the University of Arkansas Continuing Education Center
located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The classes will commence at 8:00 AM and end at
5:00 PM each day with one hour for lunch.
2. The Consultant shall conduct classroom training following the agenda of topics in the
daily schedule attached hereto as Exhibit A. The maximum size of each class shall not
exceed 24 participating students.
3. The Consultant shall interview various members of City management throughout the day
of September 28, 1990 in order to prepare for and customize training materials for the
program.
4. The term of this agreement shall for seventy-five (75) days commencing on the 28th day
of September 1990 unless extended by agreement due to circumstances beyond the control
of the City or Consultant.
5. For services rendered hereunder, the City shall pay the Consultant the sum of
$31,821.00 as detailed in Exhibit B. Payment shall be due and payable immediately upon
completion of the training and final report to the City of the results of the
organizational climate survey.
6. The Consultant shall at all times be an independent contractor and, shall not be an
agent or employee of the City.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this Agreement executed on the date first above written.
