RESOLUTION NO. X3.3„ -90
A RESOLUTION. APPROVING THE BUDGETING OF A NEW
POSITION .FUNDED BY THE CITY ADVERTISING AND
PROMOTION COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING A BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT FOR THAT POSITION.
WHEREAS, the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion
Commission has approved a one year contract with the City Economic
Development Program for the employment.of an individual to develop
and promote tourist activity; and
WHEREAS, the cost of such new position is in the amount of
$30,000 per year and includes $10,000 needed in the current budget)
year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville deems it necessary and
desirable for the City to develop and promote tourist activity in
Fayetteville.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE City OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors authorizes and
approves the proposal of the Fayetteville Advertising. and
Promotion Commission and the City Economic Development program
providing for the hiring of an individual, employment benefits,
travel expense and promotion expenses in the total amount of
$30,000 for one year, of which $10,000 is included in the current
year's City budget.
Section 2. That 'the Board of Directors authorizes a
budget adjustment in the amount of $10,000 to be transferred from
the Advertising and Promotion Account, Acct. No. 224-924-4-602.12
to fund such proposal.
Section 3. The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the immediate passage of this resolution is necessary to provide
said services. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this.ordinance being necessary for the public health,
safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
